On July 6, 2026, Open Net was invited to speak at Open Government Partnership's Asia Pacific CSO Exchange. The session convened approximately 30-40 participants from OGP Asia-Pacific countries, including representatives of civil society organizations engaged in open government processes, transparency and accountability initiatives, and civic participation and inclusion; and civil society members of OGP multi-stakeholder forums. The event aims to:

• Identify and unpack the challenges faced by CSOs as well as practical approaches being used to sustain their work, influence decision-making, and uphold transparency and accountability despite political, economic, and informational constraints.
• Create a safe space for participants to share experiences and learn from one another.
• Distill insights and strategies that can be adapted or replicated, recognizing both common challenges and context-specific nuances.

K.S. Park spoke on the lack of understanding of multistakeholderism among the government members of the National OGP Committee who involve NGO members input too late on too few topics to be meaningful. Even the NGO members are nominated by the government members who nominate the entities and individuals who have had friendly relationship with the government, defeating the checks and balances within the National OGP Committee.

K.S. Park also spoke on how mis/disinformation and evolving digital regulations (including AI and privacy) are reshaping civic space in practice, and how these challenges affect CSO operations and advocacy. KS Park discussed the country's new "anti-disinformation law" passed in December 2025 which creates and penalizes the new digital contraband under the name of "disinformation" despite international human rights law protecting it and which is expected to put more pressure on the platforms to take down and moderate CSOs' contents militating against the mainstream beliefs.
