On August 3, The Diplomat published an opinion titled “South Korea’s ‘Sender Pays’ Policy Is a Threat to the Internet”(written by Adrian Wan, a senior manager for policy and advocacy at the Internet Society). It warns against the “sender pays” model as it will “create fragmentation of digital rules and standards, compromising the digital ecosystems that have been at the heart of the internet’s innovation and growth.”
