In November 2025, Open Net participated in the 'Asia Democracy Assembly (ADA) 2025' held in Bangkok, Thailand. Hosted by the Asia Democracy Network (ADN), this assembly was a meaningful gathering that brought together over 100 activists and civil society leaders from across Asia to discuss regional democratic crises and cooperation strategies. In particular, it was held in conjunction with International Civil Society Week (ICSW), serving as an opportunity to expand solidarity with global civil society.

The assembly featured thematic sessions on various topics, including countering disinformation, technology and democracy, and next-generation leadership. Amidst the shared crises of rapidly evolving digital authoritarianism and the shrinking of civic space, Open Net could deeply sense the urgency of cross-border solidarity and practical cooperation. The '2025 Asian Democracy Agenda' adopted on the final day provided a concrete roadmap for future direction.

In addition to the main sessions of the assembly, Open Net was invited as a representative of South Korea to participate in a capacity-building side event hosted by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). In this session, principles of 'Democratic Resilience' and global innovative practices to counter the worldwide backsliding of democracy were discussed in depth.

Above all, throughout the assembly and the side event, South Korea was spotlighted as a global exemplar and a prime model for successfully defending democracy through the power of its citizens amidst a crisis. Participating as part of the South Korean delegation, Open Net received high praise and encouragement from numerous civil society organizations across Asia as a "bulwark of Asian democracy," reaffirming its standing in the international arena.
